Skyline drove to Clyde’s for lunch today and the place was slammed with supporters of law enforcement.
One diner said, “We drove all the way up from SC after seeing their, (Clyde’s), post in support of Police. Their food is great and I love a business with backbone.”
Another diner said, “We brought the whole family to this place, (Clyde’s). My son is a Madison County Sheriff Deputy and we support places that support the blue.”
Clyde’s Restaurant issued this statement on Facebook – “As business owners, we tend to keep our business page and our stances on political issues separate, but we couldn’t remain silent after seeing a disgusting image of a local business’s sign in Maggie Valley circulating Facebook. Hopefully our sign is a more accurate representation of Haywood and surrounding counties because we PROUDLY support our local law enforcement and their families.”
After lunch, Skyline drove to the Our Place Inn to speak with the owners. The sign was lit “NO” for no vacancies. No one was in the office and all the lights were out. There was only one marron SUV in the parking lot.
