DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE FOR BUNCOMBE COUNTY SHERIFF DAVID HURLEY – POLICE RECORD IS CLEAN BUT IS HIS MOTIVES QUESTIONABLE?

Staff Report

Skyline has investigated all candidates runing in the Buncombe County primary. That are Democrats Quentin Miller and David Hurley. The Republicans are Ben Jaramillo and Jeff Worley.

David Hurley is relatively new to the Buncombe political scene. He was a Police Officer in Raleigh NC for three years. Skyline spoke with the Raleigh Police Department and found no concerning issues with his service.

On June 3rd 2021, David Hurley attended a Buncombe County School Board meeting over the mask mandate of the children. Approximately 75 people protested the school board and were not allowed inside the building. Hurley berated a Buncombe County Deputy for not allowing him into the building. The Debuty did not budge, was calm, and  courteous. Hurley backed down and left the Deputy alone. Skyline covered the incident LIVE.
