Broadband internet is a high-capacity transmission technique using a wide range of frequencies, which enables a large number of messages to be communicated simultaneously. There are still parts of Western NC without broadband that use dial up technology. Other parts have broadband but not enough to for fast service.
Congressman Madison Cawthorn and Senator Kevin Corbin have secured 45 million in tax dollars for broadband for the people of Western NC.

Lisieux Statement from Congressman Madison Cawthorn – “I am thrilled to see the first wave of federal funding for rural broadband reach Western North Carolina. Our mountain district is in desperate need of increased access to high speed internet and these funds are the first step in bringing meaningful improvement to NC-11.
My staff and I are wholeheartedly committed to this effort, and we applaud State Senator Kevin Corbin for his dedication to our local communities. Kevin is a great leader and we are lucky to have him in our mountains.”
