The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported this morning the loss of one of their Deputies.
The statement said – “Our retired K9 Deputy Sampson passed last evening. K9 Sampson retired from the Sheriff’s Office in November 2019 at the age of 10 after serving the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office since 2014 with his handler Deputy Stanley Murray. Sampson was trained to detect explosives and firearms.
Thank you Sampson for your service to our community and the BCSO.”
K9 dogs have saved countless lives from protecting law enforcement, sniffing out danger, and rescuing people. K9’s and their handlers are put in some of the most dangerous places in the world to protect and serve.
K9’s are not just part of a team in law enforcement. They are part of our community just like all law enforcement should be.
May God Bless Deputy Stanley Murray and the BC Sheriff’s Office.
